We previously communicated that Tenders for Phase 1 of the Kilcloon Community Centre Project had been issued to prospective bidders in our May ’21 Project Update.
Phase 1 will enable the development of the Community Field at Ballynare Cross for the Community Centre and housing. The work consists of the internal road, footpaths and lighting and underground services including sewer, mains water, surface water drainage, power and broadband. During May and June, tenders were received, evaluated and scored. We are pleased to announce that the Contract for Phase 1 Construction has now been awarded. The appointed contractor is Rossmore Civils Ltd. Rossmore Civils specialise in Building and Civils infrastructure works and are well positioned to deliver Phase 1 of the project in a timely and quality focussed way. The commencement of the Phase 1 work on the site is a significant and long-awaited milestone and achievement. Completion of Phase 1 will enable the construction of the Community Centre and also the housing on the site. Construction activity will start on site in early August. The initial work will involve making the new entrance to the site close to Ballynare Cross on the road to Kilcloon and Scoil Oilibhéir Naofa. The timing of the works is optimum, as the bulk of the work will be complete during the school holidays. We are currently aligning with the contractor on the detailed program of the work, and this will include topics such as working hours, site security and access control, and traffic management and truck movement to and from the site. Our next update will provide a summary of the Phase 1 works program and timelines. The sale of sites to fund the project continues. Of the 8 sites in the 1st phase, 2 now have full planning permission, 3 have submitted for full planning and there are booking deposits on the remaining 3. We are now opening the 2nd phase on the 5 remaining sites for sale. For information on sites for sale, please contact Leinster Property. Comments are closed.
